How to book a Hiking Permit for Mount Karisimbi Hike
Hikers interested in Mount Karisimbi can obtain the permit through a Rwanda Development Board or a trusted Tour Operator. Required Documents include having a valid passport and one should be 15 years old or above.
A Foreign non resident is charged USD 400 for the Hiking Permit, East African foreign resident is charged USD 300 and a student or Child in this category pays USD 180 for the Hiking permit. A Foreign Resident in Rwanda is charged USD 250 while a student or Child in this category is charged USD 180. A Rwanda citizen and east African citizen will pay USD 200
Weather Condition at Mount Karisimbi
Hiking Mount Karisimbi can be all year round but the best season for Hiking Mount Karisimbi is during the dry season which spans from June to September and December to February. During the dry season, the overall hiking trails and conditions are more enjoyable.
During the wet season of March to May and end of September to November, expect frequent and intense rain showers, fog which reduces visibility, slippery and challenging trails and cold temperatures. The terrain during rainy season makes the hiking more challenging and the hikers may take longer hiking times.

Hiking Mount Karisimbi requires an excellent fitness level considering the demanding terrain. Hikers should be in good physical and mental health.
