Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale / Chimpanzee tracking
In the morning, have breakfast to transfer to Kibale National park the home of primates. The park is known to harbour the largest number of primates in Uganda. It is a home to remarkable 13 primate species, although best known for its chimpanzees. You will drive to reach Fort Portal in the afternoon have lunch and proceed to Kibale NP headquarters for briefing and then go for a walk in the park searching for these great primates. The walk in the forest will also reward you with other primates like the bush bucks, Mangabeys, bush babies, baboons etc. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Mountains of the moon/ Primates Lodge.
Day 2: Nature walk (Bigodi swamp)-Transfer to Semliki NP
Early in the morning have breakfast and then transfer to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a walk. Later in the afternoon you will transfer to Semliki National Park. The reserve is made up of diverse habitats which explains the diversity of species both fauna and flora. You will reach in the late afternoon to rest at the lodge and have dinner. Following dinner you will go for a spot lit game drive in the evening to view unusual nocturnal dwellers such as mongoose, nightjars, Lions, leopards, hyenas, and others. Dinner and overnight at Semliki Lodge / Primates Lodge.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking / Evening Game drive
Early in the morning after breakfast you will go down into to the rain forest to search for wild chimpanzees that can be seen at dawn and dusk. You will retire from chimp trekking before noon to relax by the pool side and then later in the afternoon you will go for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Semliki safari Lodge / Primates Lodge.
Day 4: Transfer-Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning have breakfast and go for a game drive to return to the lodge for late breakfast and then later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is known for its mammals and birds where by it has the worlds birding record of 210 birds a day. You will reach the park in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Institute of Ecology.
Day 5: Game drive / Launch cruise
Have a cup of coffee/ tea or a glass of juice before dawn to go for game drive in the Kasenyi sector and the queens’ mile. The drive will reward you with animals like elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kob, Warthogs, bushbucks, bushpigs, white striped jackal, bush pigs, and others. Later in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel to view water animals and birds like the African fish eagle. The launch cruise will take you about two hours. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Institute of Ecology.
Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda
Early in the morning have breakfast to transfer to Lake that is probably East Africa's most spectacular scenery. The lake lies amidst greenest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds. You will reach in the afternoon to go for a foot tour around the crater lakes. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages / Bushara island Camp.
Day 7: Transfer-Lake Mburo
Early in the morning have breakfast to transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. You will reach in the late afternoon to go for a canoe ride on the lake. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp / Rwonyo rest Camp.
Day 8 Nature walk-Transfer-Kampala
This morning you will go for a game drive or nature walk in the park with a game ranger to spot game like zebras, impala, African Eland; Africa’s largest antelope and others. After the walk you will return to the lodge prepare and drive back to Kampala.
