Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale / Visit Ndali Crater Lakes Region

In the morning have breakfast to meet your guide who will transfer you to Fort portal. The journey will take you through homesteads, green country side and tea plantations, to reach Fort Portal in the afternoon. You will have lunch and then in the afternoon go visit the Ndali Crater Lake region. Dinner and overnight Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury) or Rwenzori View Guest house (Midrange) or Kanyankyu ecological centre (Budget).

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking-Nature walk

In the morning you will have breakfast to transfer to Kibale Head quarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search for chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it interesting.

The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, and butterflies. After tracking the chimps in the afternoon you will go for a nature walk to the Bigodi swamp- to see unique flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury) or Rwenzori View Guest house (Midrange) or Primates Lodge. (Budget)

Day 3: Transfer to Semliki-Night game drive        

In the morning have breakfast and then transfer to Semliki wildlife Reserve. It has the most diverse habitats with great examples of short and high savannah, Riparian forest, gallery rain forest, and borassus palm forest.

You will reach the park to check in your lodge and rest. In the evening after dinner you will go for a spot lit game drive to catch up with predators like the big cats, lions, hyenas, leopards, and other nocturnal dwellers like the white tailed mongoose  standard and pennant nightjars for birders. There are always surprises in night game drives. Dinner and overnight at Semliki safari Lodge (FB).

Day 4: Tracking chimpanzees-Evening game drive

Early in the morning have breakfast and then go into the beautiful gallery rainforest for a walk in search for wild chimpanzees. It advisable to go at dawn or dusk because the chimpanzees tend to disappear in the middle of the day.  For birders this is another paradise where by its is blessed with unique birds that are picturesque. After tracking these chimps we will return to the lodge for lunch and then in the evening we shall go for a game drive in the park.  Dinner and overnight at Semliki Lodge.

Day 5: Departure- Kampala

After the experience we have to go back to Kampala. Having taken breakfast we shall drive back to Kampala to stop for lunch in any town of convenience and for photographs at the equator.
