During day, it is hot due to the fact that many of these safari destinations in the country are located close to the equator so we advise you carry shorts, blouses, sun glasses, and flip flops to make it easy for you to transfer around. This should be done at leisure with no safari activity. The evenings are kind of chilly and cold so we recommend you wear a sweater or a long arm jacket to keep your body warm.
Shoes
The type of shoes to wear as you transfer to a certain safari destination varies from one’s tastes and preferences of the safari activity they prefer to experience. For example those interested in Gorilla Trekking and Chimpanzee tracking should carry Trekking ankle boots to enable them transfer along the various trails, mountaineering and hiking walks should get hiking shoes and those interested in casual safari experiences like beaching, white water rafting, bungee jumping, boat cruising can wear easy shoes/ sandals. This will enable you have the best safari experiences of all times since you will transfer from one place to another with ease.

Carry a normal smart phone with a simple tablet/ laptop because if you carry expensive good looking gadgets, you might be attacked by goons who will steal everything from you causing an inconvenience while on your safari. Pack a good camera, spare batteries, chargers, adapters, memory cards, binoculars, converters etc.

Countries around the equator have numerous insects that inhabit the various vegetation types so we recommend all travelers to carry/pack insect repellents to protect them from being bitten by these insects i.e mosquitoes, tsetse flies, flies, cockroaches etc.
Carry Anti Malaria Drugs
As you plan your transfer to any East African Country, make sure to pack/ carry anti malaria drugs for swallowing so as you protect yourself from getting infected with malaria. Due to the location of these countries near the equator, mosquitoes breed everywhere especially during the wet season when many places flood so we advise travelers to ask their personal doctors for anti malaria drugs to protect them from getting sick while on safari holiday.
