Safari Overview

The 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari Tour in Rwanda takes you to numerous safari destinations in Rwanda and these include; Nyungwe Forest National Park and Volcanoes National Park which will give you an opportunity to experience remarkable Primate Safaris on vacation holiday in Rwanda.

Day 1: Transfer-Nyungwe forest

Leave Kigali and drive southwest to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Nyungwe Forest National Park is located south of Lake Kivu on the border with Burundi. Along the way, you will enjoy the scenery of land scape, local markets. Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura Guest House.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking

After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee tracking. You may spot other primates such as the L’Hoest’s monkey and the grey-cheeked Mangabey are often sighted. The birds are spectacular, though as in most tropical forests, you’ll have to look hard for them. Giant hornbills, great blue turacos and red-breasted sparrow hawks are amongst the specials, of which 24 are endemic to this section of the Rift Valley.

Day 3: Explore-Rwanda Cultural museum

After breakfast you will return to Kigali. On your back to Kigali you will make a stopover in Butare, visit the Botanical Gardens and a cultural museum. You will have lunch in Kigali City and thereafter drive north to Kinigi via Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Muhabura or Kinigi guest house.

Day 4: Rwanda Mountain Gorilla tracking

After breakfast you will transfer to Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Volcans. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 5: Departure-kigali

After breakfast, you will leave for Kigali. Time permitting; you will go for a tour of the city including shopping and after Transfer to airport for your flight back home.
