Safari Overview
The 14 Days Uganda Safari Tour takes you to numerous safari destinations in Uganda like Murchison Falls National park, Semliki National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Bwindi Forest National park, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 1: Transfer -Murchison Falls
Depart Kampala for Murchison falls National park after breakfast. You will have lunch stop over for lunch proceeds to the park. On reaching the park in the afternoon you will drive to the top of the falls from which the park was named. At the top of the falls you will see where the Nile perfects its beauty. You will see how the calm Nile transforms into a thunderous roar of white water falling deep down about 45m. After, you will transfer to the Lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Game Drive-Launch cruise
Before dawn wake up and have breakfast to go for a game drive to search for predators and early risers. The drive will reward you with game like hyenas, giraffes, Lions, birds, Hartebeests, buffalos, elephants, primates and others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the great Victoria Nile to the Bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with water game like hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of birds dashing and walking along the banks. Paraa Safari Lodge / Red chili Camp.
Day 3: Transfer-Semliki /Spot lit game drive
Have breakfast and depart by road to Semliki Wildlife Reserve. The drive will take you down the eastern side of Lake Albert. Situated in the basin of the western Rift Valley, Semliki is one of the parks with the most diverse habitats in Africa ranging from Riparian forest, gallery rain forest, borassus palm forest and short and high grass savannahs. You will reach the park in the afternoon to have lunch and rest. In the evening after dinner go for a spot lit drive through the park to sight big cats as well as genet and serval cats. Watch out for the un usual nocturnal dwellers like the white tailed mongoose standard and pennant winged nightjars. Dinner and overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Boat Cruise-Lake Albert
Have breakfast and then go for a boat trip on Lake Albert to see the rare shoe bill, red throated bee-eaters, and beautiful sceneries of water falls up the lake with several fishing villages still in their traditional structures. In the afternoon you will transfer to Kibale National Park to reach in the evening. Dinner and overnight at attaco rest camp / Primates lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking Kibale / Nature walk
Morning transfer to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters to go track chimpanzees. The park is known to harbour the largest number of primates in Uganda. Therefore the guided forest walk will not only reward you with chimps but with other primates like the grey cheeked Mangabeys, black and Red tailed colobus monkeys, baboons, phoestes, and others. The guide will ensure that the walk is interesting by providing information not only on primates but also on other organism flora inclusive. In the afternoon you will go for another guided nature walk to the Bigodi swamp where you will see plenty of rare fauna and flora. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
Have breakfast to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park harbours over 100 mammals with 600 bird species which make it a superb safari territory worth paying a visit. You will reach the park in the afternoon to have lunch and then go for the afternoon Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. This boat ride will reward you with water animals like Hippos, buffaloes, and plenty of water birds like the African Kingfisher, pink and white pelicans, African fish Eagle and many more. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / queen Elizabeth hostel
Day 7: Game drive / Visit salt mines
Early morning cup of Tea after depart for morning game drive that will take you through the Kasenyi track and Queens Mile in the park. The game drive will help you catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hide outs. The drive will reward you with game like spotted hyenas, leopards, Lions, Uganda Kob, Bushbucks, waterbucks, buffaloes and many more. Retire from the game drive for late breakfast and lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a drive in the Crater Lakes region to see the Katwe Salt mines. Day 8: Transfer-Bwindi Forest
With packed lunch you will have a game drive en-route through the Ishasha sector as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Watch out for tree climbing lions, and plenty of primates, and antelopes on road sides. You will reach Bwindi in the afternoon. You may go for a community walk to visit the local communities around the forest. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking-Bwindi Forest
Following breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these great apes. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them. They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp / Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 10: Transfer-Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning have breakfast and then go visit the communities and then later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake in Uganda also referred to as “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and it is one of the most beautiful place in Uganda. With stunning sceneries and amazing creatures (birds). Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages / Bunyonyi Overland Cottages.
Day 11: Explore-Lake Bunyonyi
Early in the morning wake up to have breakfast and then go for any activity of your choice. You may go for a nature walk, canoe ride or decide to spend the whole day resting. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages / Bunyonyi Overland Cottages
Day 13: Transfer-Lake Mburo
Following morning breakfast you transfer to Lake Mburo National Park which takes us about four hours with lunch en route. You will reach the park in the afternoon to transfer to your hotel to check in. After checking in your lodge, you will go for a boat ride on the lake to view game like hippos, crocodiles, and birds. Dinner and overnight at Montana tented Camp / Rwonyo Camp.
Day 14: Nature Walk-Transfer to Kampala
This morning you will go for a nature walk to search for more game with a game ranger. This is the only park in Uganda where you can spot Zebras and African Eland and other antelopes. Retire from the nature walk for late breakfast. After breakfast you will drive back to Kampala. You will stop at the equator for photographs to reach Kampala/ airport for your departure flight in the evening.
