Your driver guide will pick you up from either Kigali International Airport at 4:30 am and you embark on your 3-hour journey from Kigali city to Volcanoes National Park in the northwestern part of Rwanda. Ensure you carry a packed lunch and enough water for
the day. You will arrive at the park headquarters in Kinigi at 7:00 am and you will be welcomed with a hot cup of locally manufactured Rwandan coffee after which you will proceed for the briefing. After the briefing, you will go for the gorilla trekking experience. This will take between 2-8 hours of hiking in search of these mountain gorillas depending on their movement and this hike requires some level of fitness. Upon finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour of observing them and taking videos, as well as photos. During this time, you can ask the rangers and guides as many questions as you like about these mountain gorillas. After, you will return to the starting point where you will be awarded gorilla trekking certificates then with your driver guide, you will start your journey back to Kigali where the guide will drop you off either at your hotel or the airport so that you can catch your flight to your next destination.
