Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Akagera National Park

Pickup from the airport Kigali and drive straight to Ruzizi tented camps-Akagera National Park evening have an evening boat ride along the boat ride on Lake Ihema expect to see animals like crocodiles,hippos,bird species and many more after return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Dereva hotel or akagera game lodge. Or at the best luxury lodge Ruzizi tented camps,

Day 2: Explore Akagera National Park

Go for game drive in Akagera national park in the south part of the park in search of some of the big the game wild animals and birds there many chances of sporting the newly introduced lions in this park note that here we shall leave with packed lunch so that we get to have much time in the game drive in such for the big five, like elephants,buffalos, giraffe,hyenas, waterbucks, bush bucks, oribi, warthogs, hartebeest, and different bird species. Return to the lodge for refleshment or proceed to the long drive to (230Km)Ruhengeri in musanze province dinner and over night at hotel muhabula or kinigi guest house or Mountain gorilla view lodge meals plan full board.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience

After our breakfast prepare for briefing from park officials for group allocation , gorilla group to be trekked is determined on the day of trekking by your driver guide. and after enter into the jungle to search for the shy mountain endangered gorillas.Requirements like walkable shoes, hut, insect repellent, sun screen, rain gears, packed lunch or have lunch after the trek but its mandatory to have bottled water are must and other tools that one may need once in the tropical rain forest. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight as above Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking then drive to Kibuye

After breakfast at the Lodge, you will go for Golden Monkey trekking within the Volcanoes National Park. These Golden Monkeys are the most endangered primates with in the forest. This activity will not take long like as it is when tracking the Gorillas. You will spend also less time with these primates. Return to your lodge for lunch after which you will drive to kibuye where you will have a night at Bethany guest house or Cormoran Lodge at Kibuye in the Karongi Province for Dinner and overnight. Day 5: Lake Kivu to Nyungwe Forest

After breakfast at your lodge,go for boat ride on the lake kivu after drive and visit to the genocide church in kibuye is worth while ,after head to Nyungwe forest National Park.via cyangugu via the Cyangungu , with aclear view of Bukavu part of congo expect to see the beautifull scenery of the thousand hills via kamembe Have en-route visit the Dinner and overnight at gisakula guest house/budget or Top hill view or Nyungwe forest lodge.Lodge. Meal plan: Full-Board

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience

After breakfast prepare for briefing from park officials and then go for chimpanzee trekking. In the kyamudongo., this exercise involves pre booking of your park guide and the departure time from park office is 5:00 am This experience does expose you to variety of wildlife species that this forest offers such as the L’Hoest’s monkey and the grey-cheeked mangabeys are often sighted. The birds are spectacular,though as in most tropical forests, you’ll have to look hard for them Giant hornbills, great blue turacos and red-breasted sparrow hawks are amongst the specials, of which 24 are endemic to this section of the Rift Valley. Return to lodge for lunch and after take evening walk around the Tea plantation. Dinner and overnight at lodge . Meal plan:Full-Board

Day 7: Forest Walk

After a morning breakfast, start your brave day with your packed lunch go for the canopy walk , walkable shoes, hut, insect repellent, sun screen,rain gears and others needed while in tropical rain forest for a walk forest guided walk with in Nyungwe Forest National Park. On this long walk, you will visit the Kamiranzovu waterfalls and enjoy your picnic lunch from there. On this walk expect to see a variety of birdlife species and also primates like monkeysafter drive to Butare with an over night at hotel Ibis or similar hotel overnight. Meal plan: Full-Board

Day 8: Morning breakfast Butare

After breakfast old King’s Palace in Nyanza where you can learn about the ancient kings and the Rwandan culture. Visit murambi hich was atechnicalinstute but later thousands of hutu and tutsi were killed and buried and some were buried live , later after the genocide the bodies were removed and put in rime and placed in 25 rooms for public viewing a visit to the murambi genocide memorial site is worth while for a visit Murambi is one of the best genocide memorial where thousands of Tutsi were buried alive and after drive to Kigali dinner and over night at hotel De gorillas or hotel okapi

Day 9: Kigali City Tour & Drop Off

Go for a city tour to local markets shopping souvenirs or board your home flight. End of services,
